A foreign correspondent's memoir like no other ... Zoe Daniel is the ABC's fifteenth South East Asia Correspondent, and one of only a handful of women to combine one of the most dangerous jobs in the world with one of the most demanding - motherhood. From the political unrest in Bangkok and the bittersweet story of conjoined twins in India, to a tragic plane crash in Laos and the destruction of typhoon Haiyan in the Philippines, Storyteller is a frank and brave memoir, as much about the events that capture our attention as it is about a personal story of the universal juggle of work, ambition and family amid the unpredictability of life and the predictability of the 24/7 media cycle. Storyteller is a timely reminder of the bravery and audacity of the men and women who bring us the news - the journalists, the local 'fixers', the cameramen - but above all it is a tribute to ordinary people who find themselves eyewitnesses to the extraordinary.
Storyteller eBook Zoe Daniel
I have long admired Foreign Correspondents so I read a book called Absurdistan by Eric Campbell which I loved it was funny and touching and exciting. So I looked forward to this when it was released. It was an interesting read and I am pleased I read it, however it was a bit humdrum to be honest. It lacked the spark necessary to make it a great read. Quite a life she has led she has met some extraordinary people.Product details

Storyteller eBook Zoe Daniel Reviews
Very insightful about political life in South East Asia and the life of a foreign correspondent in particular. Easy to read.
Absolutely loved Storyteller! Moving, detailed - Daniel gives you such a clear picture of life as a foreign correspondent, including the various political situations and natural disasters she found herself covering in South East Asia.
I was fascinated by Zoe's account of her time as a foreign correspondent. As an avid expat viewer of The Australian Network I was definately motivated to purchase "Storyteller" by my time spent watching Zoe's reports from around the region. I know you have to have a home life too, but more stories please!
Really enjoyed this adventure packed time that Zoe had whilst a foreign correspondent - many of the stories I remember seeing her deliver. Her account of her personal life was an added bonus as I thought I created a well rounded read.
Zoe writes most beautifully showing her talent that has made her the journalist she is today. As a reader we are drawn into the stories she is reporting and left with respect as to what it takes to produce a news segment.
Zoe Daniel is familiar to us on TV and radio, representing the much-trusted voice of ABC (Australian Broadcasting Corporation) journalism. Her compelling book provides a greater depth to those amazing stories. It gives insight into how those stories come to be reported and the care good journalists take in reporting the world to us. I'm sure Zoe has more fantastic stories to tell. I hope she does tell them.
Zoe is a really strong lady and so lucky to have the support and understanding if a wonderful husband also. Having also read Eric Campbell's and Jonathan Harley's tales of life as an ABC foreign correspondent I am awestruck by the physical and personal and emotional sacrifices made by these brave and intelligent persons who bring 30 or 60 seconds of life changing events, tragedies, and celebrations to us in the comfort of our homes.
I hope life in Australia is not too dull now and a time to really enjoy family moments.
